Poetry as a Voice: Franklypoetic.com's Mission to Raise Awareness
Why these poems matter
Franklypoetic.com began as a personal response to the upheaval of 2020 and has grown into a simple but determined mission: to raise awareness worldwide through honest poetry. My inspiration came from lived experience and friendships formed while volunteering with Everton in the Community, and one of my earliest pieces, "The Voice", felt like a sign from my late mother to explore creative writing more deeply. These poems aim to put words to feelings that are often hard to name — isolation, grief, resilience — and to connect readers who may be suffering in silence. A central part of this journey is collaboration and tribute. Book three, Brothers in Arms, is a co‑authored work with my dear friend Liam Kennedy, who sadly passed away on 11 December 2024 after a long battle with cancer. That collection, and Liam’s own book From Tears to Glory (available via amzn), speak directly to the realities of mental and physical ill health and the quiet courage of everyday people. The poems range from short, sharp pieces that name a feeling to longer reflections on friendship, loss and recovery. I’m currently working on book four, Cause & Effect, which will continue to explore these themes — watch the news & updates section on the site for publication details and gallery additions.
